Ian D Robertson, Board Member
Ian has had an active professional and volunteer career based in Toronto and Vancouver. After service as Military Engineer and prior to moving to Victoria in 2017, he was a consultant to several national and regional retail organizations as well as being involved as advisor or angel investor with over a dozen startup bio-techs on the UBC campus.
As a volunteer he has spent several decades with the Anglican Church at the local and regional level. In the Diocese of New Westminster (Vancouver area) this involved Strategy, Planned Giving, Finance and Human Resources Committees, and Diocesan Treasurer for over 70 parishes. Elsewhere for the Anglican Church, he has served on the board at Sorrento Centre, and for a decade as a Governor at the Vancouver School of Theology.
While residing in Delta, BC, he was involved on the committees charged with creating then revising the Area Plan for Tsawwassen, and was active as the chair of the Ivey Business School Club of BC for several years.
Ian and his wife have been part-time residents on Pender Island for two decades where they are members of St Peter’s Church and the Legion. In the springtime Ian provides free income tax service to low income seniors.
Professionally, he is a graduate of McGill University (B Eng) and Ivey School of Business at Western University (MBA). He is happily retired with his wife in Oak Bay where they are now close to their adult children and five grandchildren.
