Medical Equipment Loans
Co-ordinated through Community Health Services in conjunction with the Volunteer Program.
The Pender Islands Health Centre houses a medical equipment loan service also known as the “loan cupboard.” Supplies are available for short and long-term loan. Items are used primarily by patients recovering from hip and knee operations and those who need help with mobility issues.
In order to meet the requirements for PIHCS insurance coverage, any person borrowing medical equipment must complete a waiver form. The waiver must be signed by the actual user prior to the equipment leaving the room.
Volunteer-Run
The loan cupboard is co-ordinated through Community Health Services in conjunction with the Volunteer Program. A volunteer comes in weekly to clean, sort and maintain the equipment.
