Heather (Tingle) Chaulk, Board Member

Heather (Tingle) Chaulk is a recent transplant to Pender Island, starting out part time but moving here fully in November 2024 with her partner Dave once their kids were out on their own.

She has been steeped in health care from an early age; she is a third-generation nurse, and her earliest memories are of her dad’s medical research lab. She began her professional career as a public health nurse in Terrace and then Chilliwack. Alongside that she was a clinical supervisor of non-profit youth and sexual health clinics in multiple communities, and then co-director at the provincial level. As the needs of her family grew, she retired from nursing but eventually returned to health care work, managing a busy multidisciplinary health clinic in Surrey. Now, Heather has a small private practice as a health/life/chronic pain coach and volunteers for Pain BC and Pender’s Native Plant Nursery.

You might find Heather in her garden negotiating with slugs and buttercup, paddling around on the water, following her dog up a hill, learning to make art, or writing about it all.
