Where Caring and Community
Come Together
Jane Harrison, Executive Director
The Executive Director manages the day-to-day operations of the Health Centre, its programs and staff, and maintains productive relationships with external entities.
Reporting directly to the Board, the Executive Director has a key leadership role with responsibility and accountability for managing the day-to-day operations of the Health Centre and its programs on behalf of the Society. The ED mentors and supports a team of employees and contractors, who report directly or indirectly.
In collaboration with the board of directors, the Executive Director identifies service delivery models that support the Society’s vision for quality, accessible health care and wellness support for the Pender Islands community, and advocates for the Society’s mission to relevant public, government and strategic partners. The ED also advises and supports the Board on matters of policy, budget, strategic direction, and various working committee activities.
As the primary point of contact with external entities such as Island Health, BC Ambulance, the Capital Regional District, United Way of BC, other health organizations on the Gulf Islands, as well as relevant provincial and national community health associations, the ED maintains productive alliances and relationships with these and other groups.
