Dr Raymond Cox, Board Member
Raymond is a Professor Emeritus of Finance at Thompson Rivers University. He and his partner have resided on Pender Island year-round since 2020.
Raymond brings a wealth of relevant experience and expertise to PIHCS especially in finances.
Three of his four degrees are in finance and his professional designations include CMA, CCM, CFA, and CPA. He has over 40 years of university teaching and research experience, as well as consulting for 30 years.
His community service on Pender includes donations to support several charitable island organizations as well as a stint as Treasurer for the Legion. Elsewhere Raymond has served on 2 church councils, a city Chamber of Commerce, and as a church Treasurer.
Raymond believes that the Pender Island Health Care Society is extremely important to our island as it provides the primary physical facility to deliver health and wellness care to our residents. Maintaining a functional and aesthetic space promotes the retention and recruitment of medical and health care professionals as well as furnishing patients with comfortable surroundings. He sees PIHCS as the focal point to interact with the community - to identify needs and solicit funding from the Province and granting agencies, in addition to local fundraising.
