Monday Seniors’ Activity Day
In collaboration with the Southern Gulf Islands Neighbourhood House, Mondays have been set aside at the Community Hall as a day just for seniors (and younger friends!). The schedule of activities, speakers and programs will provide a space for our seniors to meet, visit, engage, learn and participate. Coffee is on, and lunch is available on a pay-what-you-can basis, with a suggested amount of $8.00. Volunteer drivers can help folks get to the Hall, and eventually the program would like to offer respite care through trained volunteer “buddies.” Buddies will stay with your loved one at the Hall, allowing caregivers some time off or a chance to participate in an activity themselves. After a soft launch in October 2024, the program hopes to expand over time.
